From the Year 12 Co-Ordinator’s

What an incredible start to the year it’s been! Our Year 12 cohort has settled beautifully into their final chapter of school life. The first semester has already been packed with memorable moments — from the World’s Greatest Shave, CISSA games, to the cross-country carnival and the spectacular school musical, Mamma Mia! And with so much more still to come, the excitement is far from over.

Cross-Country

There were concerns that the event might be cancelled due to rain, but fortunately, the weather held up, making for a fantastic day. What made the event even more special was the incredible turnout of Year 12 students—not only competing but also cheering on their houses and supporting the younger years. A huge congratulations to Collins House for taking out the top spot!

Halfway to Graduating Breakfast

All Year 12 are formally invited to our Halfway to Graduating Breakfast that will be held on Thursday 17^th July at 9.15am. Whereby some of our Year 11 students and staff will be cooking all of our Year 12 students’ breakfast to say great job for making it this far and to keep going!

Preparations are well underway for the for the CSHS 2025 Formal, the event will be held at the Cairns Convention Centre on Saturday 6th September. There will be more information coming through in the next few weeks, for now students should be focusing on eligibility to attend.

Students have all been informed of the eligibility and should come and see Ms Swain or Mr Whitehouse if there are any problems.

Relay For Life

This year our Relay for Life team are aiming to make it the most successful one yet with already 21 of us who have signed up to walk as many laps as possible of Barlow Park to raise funds for cancer research, prevention and support services for patients and sufferers. The Cairns High Team have already raised $1256, which is an amazing effort.
