Palm Cove Reward Day Excursion

Last week, our Year 10 students enjoyed a well-earned day out at Palm Cove as part of their Reward Day celebrations. It was a fantastic opportunity for students to relax, bond, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Activities included fishing, swimming, beach flags, tug of war, sand sculpting, and a scenic town walk. The atmosphere was full of energy and laughter as students competed in friendly beach games and cooled off in the ocean. A big thank you to the staff who supported the day and made it a memorable experience for all.

Year 9 Coordinator

Welcome back to Term 3! We hope everyone had a restful break after an action-packed end to Term 2.

In Week 10, our Year 9 students headed off to Camp Paterson for an unforgettable outdoor adventure. The camp was packed with exciting activities like canoeing, building survivor shelters, tackling the water wipeout, and braving the obstacle course. It was fantastic to see students step out of their comfort zones, work together, and show great resilience and enthusiasm.

A highlight of the trip was the Talent Show, where students showcased their incredible creativity, courage, and humour—what a talented bunch! Evenings were spent around the campfire, sharing scary stories and roasting marshmallows under the stars—moments we’re sure they’ll remember for years to come.

Looking Ahead – A Strong Start to Term 3

Students have returned with a great attitude and are already settling back into routines for a strong and focused start to Term 3.

The "Respect Me" program continues this term, providing valuable learning around respectful relationships—helping students reflect on communication, boundaries, and empathy in their everyday lives.

Our Thursday morning wellbeing sessions are focused this term on "Embrace Nature and Get Healthy." These sessions explore practical strategies to support overall wellbeing, including:

  • Nutrition
  • Physical activity
  • Nature journalling
  • Grounding techniques
  • And other simple tools to stay healthy in body and mind.

These topics are designed to equip students with lifelong skills to manage stress, boost energy, and foster resilience.

We’re excited for the term ahead and proud of the positive mindset Year 9 is bringing into this new chapter. Keep up the great work, everyone!
