2026 Year 7 subject preferences

This subject selection form is for students enrolled in Cairns High for Year 7 in 2026

General information:

All students study Maths, English, Science, HPE, Technologies and Humanities (History, Geography, Civics). They are not required to select these subjects as it is done automatically.
For Year 7, students select their Language preferences and Arts electives.
Students study 1 arts elective subject each semester for 2 lessons per week (except for Music Extension which is a full year subject).
Students are also to select if they would like to study Italian Immersion (Humanities in Italian language).

Please rank the subjects below in order of preference from 1 to 5 (with 1 being your top preference). Note: If you are enrolled under an Arts POE, you will automatically be assigned that subject. Music Extension is a full year subject. Students who are enrolled in Music POE will automatically be placed in this subject. Students who auditioned for Music POE enrolment may also like to select Music Extension as a preference. *
