Audience: Year 10 Cairns High Students
Location: Crosswell
Address: Grafton St,
The end of Year 10 represents an important moment for our students, where they finish their compulsory schooling and transition into a different space. This might represent a transition into senior school, outside study or the world of work.
The dress code for this is INFORMAL. Typical dress for an event such as may be dress pants, dress shirt and/or cocktail dresses. Attire must be appropriate for a school event.
This is for Year 10 Cairns High students ONLY and no people or students from outside the school, i.e. not currently enrolled at Cairns High are to attend. As with any school function there are some basic rules and guidelines that need to be followed to ensure a successful evening, which will be made clear to students and parents/carers.
Students can be dropped off on the Grafton St side of the school from 6:30 pm onwards. Please endeavour to arrive between 6:30pm and 7:00pm. Students can be picked up from 8:45pm onwards and will need to be sighted leaving with a parent or trusted adult. The school has a duty of care of students at this event.
There is a cost of $30.00 per student associated with this event with the due date for payment no later than the 22nd of August. This payment will cover finger food and drink for students at this event, outfitting the space for the event and a copy of this year’s Euroka magazine. If your student is not attending the informal all unpaid invoices will be adjusted off as a bulk adjustment after the due date.
Further expectations include:
- There is to be no smoking, drugs, vaping or consumption of alcohol before or during the course of the evening.
- Dress should be appropriate for a formal school function.
- Students must remain in and around the venue at all times under the supervision of teachers.
- Students who have been excluded or enrolment cancelled from Cairns High are not eligible to attend.
- As in past years we advise parents that any activities organised by students following the informal are not the responsibility of the school.
